Wow!

Thank you to all of our wonderful athletes, their families, our volunteers and our sponsors for making the 5th Anniversary Just TRI It! Kids Triathlon the best ever! In addition to helping families achieve their goals of raising healthy kids, we raised more than $20,000 towards our goal of opening the Children’s Museum of St. Johns in 2013.

Weather Update

Saturday, 4/21/12, 7:50 p.m.: Right now, we’re”GO” for tomorrow morning’s race. We’ll post updates beginning in the early morning so be sure to check back. Our plan is to move forward with the race unless there is lightning, making a final call at 8:30 a.m.

*Volunteers – please plan on arriving as scheduled.

See you tomorrow!

Just a few more days!

Hello everyone! We’re so excited that the Kids Triathlon is just a few days away! We’re making final preparations to ensure the event goes as smoothly as possible and provide you and your children with a great experience.

A few last minute items:

1) Swim Tests – We know your kids can swim, but from a safety and liability standpoint, the YMCA requires that they swim test all children who did not participate in our 2011 triathlon, in another kids triathlon in the last calendar year or who participate on a swim team whose coach we can speak with. We will verify triathlons through online race results.  You can go to any YMCA and have your child swim tested – just send us an email with a pic of their swim card and you’re good to go! We’ll also be holding swim tests at the race location Solomon Calhoun Center on Saturday, April 21, from 1 pm to 3 pm.

2.) Registration and Packet Pick-up – We will be accepting registrations on Saturday, April 21, from 3-6 p.m. during Packet Pick-up, at the Calhoun Center and online until 6 p.m. on Saturday.  There will be no Registration on race day. Registration Fee for the first child is $30; each additional child from the same family is $10.  All children completing the race receive medals; the first 250 children to pick up their race packets are guaranteed tee shirts. Registration fees are nonrefundable and help cover the cost of tee shirts, medals and other event materials. To make the afternoon fun for everyone and not just an errand to run, we’re adding a slew of healthy family activities to explore when you’ve completed check-in. When you come to pick up your race packet , stay and play at our Healthy Kids Expo. Explore indoor obstacle courses and kids’ yoga, how to be a healthy kid, and then learn about the Children’s Museum and its efforts to open a museum in downtown St. Augustine.

3.) Weather Hotline – You gotta love Florida! According to weather.com, there is a 70% chance of thunderstorms on Sunday.  Since we rarely get storms in the morning, we’re hopeful any bad weather will happen after 11:00 a.m.  The Kids Triathlon race will take place rain or shine, except in the event of lightning in which the event may be delayed or cancelled. We’ll update the Children’s Museum outgoing message with a weather update – call (904) 827-1337 to learn the latest.

Welcome to the CMSJ Just TRI It! Kids Triathlon

The CMSJ Just TRI It! Kids Triathlon is a three-sport athletic event that introduces young athletes to a fun sport that encourages family fitness. A fun and challenging event for kids in grades K-7, Just TRI It! offers young athletes a lap swim followed by a safe bike and run on roads or paths around the outside of the facility. We strongly encourage friends and family to come cheer on these young competitors.
